I promised my personal story
I grew up marginally poor. We almost always had everything we needed. My mother, a single parent of two strong willed daughters, worked two jobs at times. She did everything to make sure we even had some things we just wanted. But I was too smart and I listened into adult conversations. I started understanding how hard we were struggling money wise. I saw how much my mother did without for us.
My youth (late teens and twenties) was a little wild. I sowed some oats. I dated some real pieces of work. To be honest, I was a real piece of work myself. I got to where I hated working. I still hate working, to be blunt. I’ve been raped and abused. I’ve been the abuser. I am so not proud of the last, but I am proud to say I’m no longer a victim or an a abuser. I’m a survivor. And I am proud of it.
I’ve learned a lot in my life. I’ve dated out side my race and found out that there really are good and bad in all people. I’ve had LGBTQ+ friends. They are just as amazing as any other group of people. I’ve struggled with self-esteem. I’ve mostly over come my issues there, but I still have rough days.
My biggest happiness these days comes from my marriage and my fur babies. My husband is amazing. He’s on the autism spectrum. He’s got an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Science. Yes, he is an amazing cook! He sees me for who I am and is the first person to accept me, flaws and all. Our saying is “You’re perfectly imperfect for me.” Our song is “All of You” by John Legend. Corny? Yep. But it’s so perfectly us. I cry often when I hear it.
We have six fur babies. It’s a long story. I’ll save it for another day, as this is super long already! Let’s just say they make me and the hubby crazy while being more adorable than should be legal.
All of this to say, I know what it’s like to struggle. From finances to personal issues. I’m still struggling financially in many ways at times. Money management is not a strong suit for either my husband or I!
But I love building with WordPress. I know many are frustrated by the very thing I love. So this is a way for me to stop working for someone else and still give back to society. If I didn’t need money to live, I could build these sites all day, every day with a smile on my face just for fun!
So, that’s it about me. I look forward to getting to know you, even if you never work with me. Life is short, people are precious, and connection is pure gold.
